N.Y.C Halloween Mani with Blackula and Pumpkin

Woot!! It's FINALLY October! This has got to be the greatest month of the year. October is the month where you finally get to be able to talk about Christmas without people looking at you like you're crazy, well unless you tell them you're already listening to Christmas music. That might lead to a few awkward looks (I speak from experience), but everything is just so much... better. The weather is cooler, holidays are just around the corner and this is the time of year where everyone is in a better mood.

To celebrate October, I am going to be doing Halloween-ish themed mani's all month long. Yes, you will be seeing a lot of oranges, but I will also be taking out any polishes that remind me of Halloween. There will be some Lynderella's Halloween editions, glow in the dark, nail art, and just any polish that I think is appropriate for Halloween. To start off my Halloween themed month, I have two polishes that I picked up a couple of weeks ago at Walgreen's. One is just a plain black creme polish named Blackula and the other is a really pretty shimmery bright orange called Pumpkin. Since, there wasn't anything special about Blackula, I decided to do an accent nail with it. Blackula was opaque in two coats, but I went ahead and did three coats for both polishes to keep it consistent, and I topped it all off with a coat of Seche Vite.

The shine on this was incredible. Seche Vite is always a great top coat if you want some shine, but whoa it is really shiny on these polishes. This is in the shade.

Semi-shade.

In sunlight you can really see how shimmery Pumpkin is.

These are both part of a limited edition collection and they were 1.99 each. Blackula was a good black creme, so if you don't already have one I would definitely pick this one up. It's an ok formula, but the name is awesome, in my opinion. Pumpkin is not one that I would normally pick up, since I'm not too much into oranges, but it's a great color to have for Halloween. Oh, and the brushes were pretty average, nothing special, but they weren't horrible either.

  1. Whoaa I love the yellow shine that orange has! I'm thinking about doing a couple of Halloween themed nails too! I only do my nails once a week so that only gives me 4 Halloween manis!! :0

  2. Once a week!! *gasp lol I wish I could leave nail polish on that long, well too me it seems like an eternity. The longest I last with the same mani is about 3-4 days max.
