I thought if you guys didn't know about this, you should! First prize gets THREE upcoming China Glaze collections. Umm.. yea 'nuff said. All you have to do is come up with a short story or poem with six China Glaze nail lacquer name and it has to be less than 200 words. You can find all the details here: http://www.facebook.com/chinaglazeofficial?sk=app_111722095615980. It really isn't hard to come up with something quick and you never know! This is the poem I did, hope it get's accepted since it does seem a bit racy lol. If it doesn't then oh well. I still had fun writing it.

China Glaze Eye Candy Collection

It seems like every single nail polish company has jumped on the glitter bandwagon for this holiday season, and I'm not complaining. I love that most of them have used bar glitters, but I could do without so many hex polishes. Do we really need so many red and silver hex polishes? Although, if you really want a red hex then skip all the others and just buy Love Marilyn. Moving on, I haven't yet tried out Wet n' Wild Ice Baby polishes, but I loved that almost all of these polishes provided full coverage in three coats.

This is Blonde Bombshell which has gold microglitter, small hex glitter and gold bars as well. It must be the holidays getting to me, but I am loving all these awesome gold glitter polishes. Even more awesome is that this one has bar glitter!

Lorelai's Tiara I really wanted just for the name. I am a HUGE Gilmore Girls fan and miss that show so much. I know, I know this has nothing to do with Gilmore Girls, but I always think of Gilmore Girls whenever I see the name Lorelai. This is a silver microglitter polish with small blue hex glitters.

Ahhh... this one I LOVE. Material girl has dusty mauve microglitter with dusty mauve HOLO hex glitters. I love, love that they are holo. This polish definitely has personality. It's shy and quiet, yet at the right angle... POW! Holo glitter all over the place.

Marry A Millionaire... yea I wish! This polish was as tricky to work with as it is to catch a millionaire! I thought this was going to be my favorite of the bunch, but it was hard to get even coverage with the dense bar glitter. I think this polish looks way better layered.

Some Like it Haute is one that we have seen over and over again, just like the red hex polishes. It's charcoal microglitter with small, silver holo glitter. The polish itself is awesome, but I hate that it has so many dupes.

Love Marilyn is the red hex glitter I have been talking about. Now, there are different variations to this polish but they all have the same idea. This one has red microglitter with small, silver hex glitter. It was the only one that needed four coats to get full coverage. Not bad, considering it's OPI counterpart is only good for layering.

Overall, I loved the collection. The only thing that bothers me in the end is the removal process, but thank goodness for the foil method. ^_^

China Glaze Holiday 'Tis the Season to be Naughty and Nice 2010 Part 2

Second week of December and only 21 days left until Christmas is here. It's all going by so fast. What's crazier is that stores are already getting prepared for spring! Seriously. Can we get through winter first? I was going to pick up some boots for my daughter, but there were no boots to be found! There were tons of sandals, though. People are so silly. I actually saw people buying sandals, but I don't blame them. I'm sure once spring gets here, we will be gearing up for fall.

This is two coats of Sugar Plums with top coat. Sugar Plums is a burgundy shimmer with holographic glitter.

I love this color, it's perfect for the holidays.

I used three coats for Mistletoe Kisses. This one was a lot more opaque than Mrs. Claus, but same idea. It's a green jelly with green and silver glitter.

The glitters on their own are great, but I think they would look even better layered.

This is Phat Santa. It looks almost like Ruby Deer, except it's a tad darker. Same jelly weirdness going on though. The first coat is sheer, but then it goes opaque by the second coat.

Since this one is a darker than Ruby Deer, you can't see any vnl.

Little Drummer is one of my favorites from this collection. It is a navy blue shimmer, but the shimmer is visible even in low lighting. I love that I don't have to wait to be under light to see the awesomeness of this polish. I used two coats here.

The shimmer is definitely more visible in brighter lighting, almost glowy.

Midnight Kiss is a gold foil. I used three coats since it applied a bit streaky, I had to do a third coat to smooth things out. I have other gold foils, but I love this one because it's not as yellow as other gold foils. It's a very soft and subtle shade of gold.

Super sparkly!

This is Snow. It's a basic white creme, but not a very good one. I used four coats for this swatch. I had a hard time getting good coverage with this one.

That's it for 'Tis the Season to be Naughty and Nice swatches. I know it's been done probably a hundred times now, but I am doing it because I want to get as many holiday themed polishes swatched as possible by Christmas. It's just a little challenge I am doing, since I know I will never be able to wear them all. At least I can look at them on my blog and see how pretty they are. ^_^

China Glaze Holiday 'Tis the Season to be Naughty and Nice 2010 Part 1

There are 16 polishes in the China Glaze 2010 Holiday 'Tis the Season to be Naughty and Nice collection, but I only have 13 out of the 16. The three I am missing is Naughty and Nice, Jingle Bells and Mommy Kissing Santa.  usually make the effort to try and complete my collections, but I really don't know why I stopped on this one. I'll have to scour eBay later to see if I can find them at reasonable prices.

Ok, so I'll make this quick because I didn't schedule this post and I have to go out to Target in a bit to get 19 presents for my son's classmates. No idea why the school isn't having the normal book gift exchange, because that was a lot easier to take care of than 19 kids. Anyways, back to nail polish. This post will have seven of the 13 polishes I have and tomorrow I will post the other six.

The first one is Frosty. Frosty is a sheer white with tons of shimmer. I used four coats to cover my visible nail line, but if you don't mind the vnl you can get away with three coats.

It reminds me a bit of Orly's Au Champagne, but this is way more shimmery and sparkly.

This is Mrs. Claus. Mrs. Claus is a red jelly with red and silver glitter. I used four coats on this one as well and added top coat.

In real life the color is a bit more vibrant. It kind of looks washed out and that's because of my lighting. I hadn't realized one of light bulbs burned out, so I'll have to pick up some more at Target.

This is two coats of Party Hearty over Snow. You can do one, but I think everything always looks better with MOAR glitter.

You can see all the different types of glitter here. There are only three types of glitters in this one. The large hexes are red, the medium ones are green and the small ones are gold.

This is Cheers to You. It's just a basic silver foil and I used three coats on this one.

This is a swatch with no top coat, so you can see that it's bit gritty on the closeup. A coat of top coat will smooth it.

This is Jolly Holly. I used two coats on this one. I cannot believe I have not worn this color yet. It is absolutely stunning. It's not just a basic green shimmer.

Up close you can see the gold in this polish. It really stands out against the green.

Peace on Earth is a blue based olive green frost. It can be a bit streaky, but this is the tendency with all frost finishes. In order to minimize streaks on frosts, I polish as normal on the first coat/s and the last coat I just sweep the entire nail in one fluid motion. I only needed two coats on this one.

I know these olive greens aren't favorites with most people, but I just love them. Especially this one.

This is two coats of Ruby Deer. Ruby Deer is a bright red creme with an almost jelly like consistency. With the first coat it was sheer, yet not sheer enough to be a jelly. With the second coat it became opaque, but still has a bit of jelly look to it.

You can see it better here in the closeup.

That's it for today's post, but tomorrow I will have the other six polishes that I have from this collection and I'm hoping to start swatching China Glaze's 2011 Holiday Collection. If I finish by tonight I should have it up by Thursday since I have other polishes I want to show you! ^_^

Color Club Sugar Plum Yum and Very Merry Berry Swatches

I only bought three polishes from the Scent-suous Collection that Sally's put out, since at that time I was on a bit of a low buy. I do regret not getting Santa's Cinnamon, though. I didn't pick that one up because I have tons of red glitters, but I should have gotten it just for the scent. *sigh

Anyways, I have two swatches for you today. The first one is one coat of Sugar Plum Yum over OPI Sapphire in the Snow. This one has a very sweet grape flavored scent, like grape gum. These glitters are tricky to apply because they are so chunky, but they aren't so difficult to apply that it's frustrating either.

This one is one coat of Very Merry Berry over China Glaze Little Drummer Boy. It also reminds me of gum, but just regular bubblegum flavored gum.

I am really kicking myself for not picking up Santa's Cinnamon after smelling these, since I love the smell of cinnamon in the holidays. I don't know think these are at Sally's anymore, but I have heard that these are just scented dupes of Color Club's Backstage Pass Collection. ^_^

Sephora Good Tidings We Bling!

I wasn't going to pick up this polish when I first saw it on Sephora.com because I thought it would be a dupe to China Glaze Party Hearty. While it's a similar idea to Party Hearty, it's actually quite different. Party Hearty contains only large red hex glitter, medium green hex glitter and small light gold hex glitter. Good Tidings We Bling! contains small, round green and red glitter, large green and red hex glitter and medium BLACK hex glitter. I couldn't wait to buy this polish when I found it had black hex glitter. I don't know what it is with me and black glitter, but if it's in a polish then you can bet I will try my best to get ahold of it. For these pictures I layered one coat of Good Tidings We Bling! over China Glaze Snow. The glitter is so dense in this polish that one coat was more than enough to get full coverage.

Sephora by OPI's are a tad more expensive than regular OPI's, but some of their colors are worth the extra 1.50. Like this one. You NEED it, even if you already have Party Hearty. ^_^

Cranky and in a Traffic Jam??

I have no idea why I keep buying pink polishes, because I hardly ever wear them and when I do I can never leave it on for very long. This mani is a prime example. I decided I was going to wear China GlazeTraffic Jam for at least a day, but my mom had gifted me a polish that I thought would be great for layering over it. So, I decided to go ahead and try it. I used two coats of China Glaze Traffic Jam and three coats of the no named polish my mom gave me. The only thing I can tell you was that it came in a set with three other polishes and the brand is Cranky Girls. Hilarious name, but awesome polish.

This is Traffic Jam.

Here is Traffic Jam with three coats of the Cranky Girls polish.

I'm not sure yet because I haven't swatched them, but I think I may have a dupe for this polish. I cannot recall the name at the moment of the other polish but it is from Color Club. Ah, and you should know this polish stinks BIG time. It definitely is NOT a B3F, big three free, polish. Just a little warning in case you come across this brand. ^_^

China Glaze Zombie Zest

This is the third polish in China Glaze's 2010 Halloween collection. Zombie Zest is a really beautiful green with hints of gold glitter polish and it's also relatively sheer. It took four coats to get it opaque, but you could do with three if you don't mind some visible nail line. I don't know that it reminds me of Zombies or Halloween, but it is a really great color for fall. To me it looks more like the color of leaves when they are ready to turn brown, but with glitter!

I'm glad I was able to find the entire collection and even better, I only paid around $7 for all of them. It's really awesome when nail polish goes on sale, which is why I sometimes hate paying full price for some polishes. I know that later down the road the left over polishes will go on sale, but I also don't want to miss out and have to pay a lot more for a polish I missed out on. Anywho, I have some nail art lined up for this week, since I had a lot of spare time Sunday and was able to experiment. I don't promise pieces of art, but they are cute enough for Halloween. ^_^

China Glaze Mummy May I?

Mummy May I is similar to Wet n' Wild's Purple Potion, but they are not the same. Mummy May I has lighter base and is much more jelly than Purple Potion. I used three coats to get it opaque and one coat of Seche Vite. I think I might like this one a tad better than Purple Potion, but just because you can clearly see the glitters in any lighting. Whereas, Purple Potion looks black in low lighting and only in bright lighting can you see the sparkly glitter.

You can still find this polish at online websites like Image Beauty. They have the whole collection and all their China Glaze are only 3.49 plus free shipping on orders over $55, which is way too easy to do. I have ordered twice from them and they are so helpful. I placed my second order last Friday and I decided I wanted to add more polishes to my order, so I emailed them to see if that could be done. They responded to my email early Monday morning and were very quick with the whole process and sent me a new invoice within minutes. Kyle is the person who seems to always answer my emails, maybe everyone goes by Kyle? Lol. Anywho, they are a great website to order polish from, since they have many more brands than China Glaze and most of them are way below retail. ^_^
