Orly Here Comes Trouble w/ Orly Fresh accent nail

  There are times that I don't feel like taking off my nail polish, yet I crave a new look. The perfect fix for this is to simply add a layer of glitter and voila you have a fresh mani. I was wearing Ulta Salon Formula in The Jungle Look and while I loved the color, I felt like it was time for a do-over after three days of wear.

Here is The Jungle Look. I am holding a home made cookie. Yup, I need to work on my baking skills! This was the color and food I did for Liquid Jelly's FFAN  (Friday Food and Nails) post, although it's a different pic.







 I didn't want to work too much for a fresh mani, so I just applied one layer of Orly Here Comes Trouble over The Jungle Look. To add even more oomph, I decided to take the polish off my index fingers and use two coats of Orly Fresh. My husband says this manicure is better suited for St. Patricks's Day lol. I must say, though that I agree!

 I had to file my nails down again after a break on my index finger and looking at these older pics really makes me miss them!

What do you guys think about the color scheme? Everyday look or save for St. Patty's Day?

Julep Zoe

 I know there has been some dislike with the company Julep, and possibly I would be upset as well if I had given out my referral code. I know how frustrating it can be when you are promised something and then you have to go through hoops to receive it. Also, the fact that Julep made no effort to correct the issue until after blogs posted negative reviews was a bit shady. However, I am not canceling my subscription. It may be that I will later change my mind, but for now I am happy with the products I am receiving.

 When I first signed up for the program it labeled my personality as "Bombshell", and the first two polishes to arrive were a neon pink Cameron and this beautiful orange Zoe. I definitely don't see myself as a "Bombshell", but wearing Zoe totally made me feel this way. I normally don't even gravitate towards pinks or oranges, however this color is easily on my top 20 now.

In the shade you can see some of the issues I had with this polish. My middle finger shows some bubbling that was caused by applying topcoat too soon. I actually waited quite a bit before applying topcoat, but man this polish took forever to dry, even with fast dry topcoat!

I am head over heels in love with this color, but I only wish it didn't take years to dry.

Cowboys Half Moon Mani

 The Cowboys lost. How did this happen?? They were winning and then they had to just be plain stupid and lose their first freaking game. Now they are 0-1. Grr... as Ni hao Kai-lan would say, "I'm so mad!" The only plus side to their loss last night is that I get to redo my nails, yay!

 Let's move on to today's post before I ramble some more about the Cowboy's suckage. Hehe. I used Sally Hansen's Celeb City for the half moon and for the background on my accent nail. The navy polish is Nina Ultra Pro in Sailor. I am not great at freehand, so I used some hole reinforcements as guides. This was the first time I attempted to do a half moon mani and I didn't plan on outlining the half moon, but due to my less than perfect outcome, it was necessary. The tattoo decal was purchased on Ebay from seller Lucky Star Style for $1.80 for 20 decals with free shipping. (No affiliation, just a great deal.)

 The application of the decals can be a little tricky, but here are some tips that helped me:

• Cut as closely as possible to the image, that way less of the "clear" portion of the tattoo will show.
• To get accurate placement, use tweezers rather than your fingers to position the decal on your nail.
• You want to leave the plastic backing on the tattoo when cutting out the image because the tattoo is sticky and it will adhere to your fingers and mess up the design.
• Since you are leaving the plastic backing on and cutting as closely as possible to the image, you will find it difficult to remove the plastic backing once you are done cutting. This is where the tweezers will come in handy. Actually, if you have to pairs of tweezers it would be much better. You can hold the tattoo with one pair of tweezers and with the other you can slide the tip in to start removing the backing. That way your fingers will have no contact with the tattoo, leaving the design intact.
• The last thing is you don't want to submerge the tattoo in water when applying. A cloth, cotton or felt with some water is the best way to apply tattoos. You want to just lightly dab on the tattoo until the paper falls off.

 In real life the tattoo isn't too noticeable as it seems in the first two pictures, that's just the macro doing it's job. The last two pictures are a better representation as to how they actually look in real life. Regardless of imperfections and *ahem Cowboys sucking ahem* I was pleased with the outcome, especially the accent nail!

 Before we get on to some blue spam, I would just like to apologize for my lack of posting these past few weeks. Now that I have a blog, I seriously have no idea how so many other bloggers can post daily. It is such hard work and kudos to them (or you if you're a blogger) for always being there for us nail fanatics!

Also, I am in the midst of working to do a giveaway, but I'm really clueless as to how to even begin so please bear with me. I don't have all the details as of yet and really the only reason for this giveaway is because Lynnderella was kind of enough to send me a Snow Angel to give away on my blog back when she did her first sale. I didn't do the giveaway right away since I wanted to be able to add a little more to the prizes. Now, that I have accumulated a few things, it really is just a matter of me getting informed on how best to do the giveaway. So just hold tight and I will post deets as soon as possible!
