Dior Waterlily w/ Lynnderella Snow Angel

 I had another post planned today, but all day I have been thinking of layering Snow Angel over Dior Waterlily and that was the first thing I did when I walked into my house. Ok, maybe not the first thing, but you get my drift. I wasn't sure how it would turn out because I haven't tried layering Snow Angel over any other color except white, so it was sort of an experiment when I began. I had thought of maybe doing Connect the Dots, but I'm sure you guys are tired of me posting on that polish! Anyways, my experiment proved successful! I was extremely pleased to see how nice both colors looked together once I started layering. I'll admit it now, but I've been slacking and posting over on MUA ever since I got home. I tell you that because I posted this combo over there and 'laurenli' said it looked like 'snowy spring'. Her description was spot on! It really does look like grass that is starting to sprout, yet still has snow surrounding it.

Skin Food BR611 w/ Lynnderella Change

 Now that Lynnderella has announced that she will be having a sale, I'm sure a lot of you are starting to look up swatches to narrow down your choices. Well, I have a pretty amazing one to show you guys today. I originally received this polish as an extra during Lynnderella's first sale, but never posted it's actual name because I didn't know what it was called. Lynnderella later told me that the name of the polish was Change, and I never got around to updating my post. I originally swatched it over Orly Luxe and while I loved that combo, I knew this polish had much better potential. That potential was reached for me when I received this Skin Food polish that I bought from a fellow polish lover. I didn't really even want this polish, but she was offering six polishes for $20 and who can resist a deal like that?? As soon as I took it out I knew I had to layer Change over it.

I just got around to doing that combo tonight and it was a layering success! I used three coats of Skin Food BR611. This is a dark chocolatey polish with so much shimmer that it applies as if it was a frost finish. It really showed the brush strokes on the first and second coats, but since the color is so dark the strokes were hardly visible on the third coat.

On to the only reason you probably even clicked on this post! This is one coat of Lynnderella Change over Skin Food BR611. I loved this combination because the chocolatey polish keeps the warm tones found in Change, yet it brings out in the shimmer in the base because it's a dark polish.

Lynnderella The Telltale Heart over OPI The One That Got Away

 I have been wanting to post this one for awhile now, but other manicures kept getting in the way! I initially wanted to use Very Pretty Vampire, but I didn't realize that The One That Got Away was more pink than red. I also never realized how beautiful this polish was! When Katy Perry's collection came out I was more excited about Black Shatter and Teenage Dream that I completely disregarded this polish. It literally was the one that got away for me until I finally decided to pick it up to complete my Katy Perry collection. I used two coats for these pictures although three coats would have been ideal. I didn't add the third since I was planning on layering and didn't want to end up with an even thicker mani. 

It's got a duochrome look to it! I love how the gold shows up at different angles.

Here I added two coats of The Telltale Heart. It's so glowy!

 I have to make it quick today. I'm helping my son with his homework and we are both on the brink of break down. It's tough because I want to help him figure it out himself and not just give him the answers. He was assigned some really difficult homework, in my opinion, he's only in Kinder! Gah! Anyways, I'm sure they just want to make them super smart. ^_^

Hello Kitty by Sephora Blueberry and Lynnderella Connect the Dots

 Anyone order more Connect the Dots? No? Ok, fine. I suppose now is as good a time as any to let you in on a little secret. Connect the Dots is THE best polish ever and I cannot get enough of it. I long to wear with every creme polish, but I force myself to resist the temptation. If I hadn't started a blog, I would probably, scratch that, I WOULD wear this polish 365 days a year. As much as I love it, I have actually only wore it four times and these pictures are a few months old. I came across them when I was cleaning out my crappy pictures and thought I would share them with you!

 This is a really cool combo and not only because it involves Connect the Dots. Blueberry is also one of my favorites. I have worn it as many times as I have Connect the Dots and while four times doesn't seem like much. Trust me when you have hundreds of polishes, four times is A LOT. ^_^

Lynnderella Cauldron Drippings over OPI Chop-Sticking to my Story

 I'm a little late with today's post and I apologize for that. I had a bit of a long day, yet I didn't have a lot of things to do. =/ I know. It was just a hectic day for me and it's still going! I still have to get my son's things ready for school tomorrow and he has homework to do. So, this will be a short post but with many pictures! Woot!

 This is my second time wearing this combination and people seem to love it! I had plenty of compliments both times I wore it. Lynnderella just updated her blog shop stating she will be coming out with a new collection called Funny Money, but she will also be taking orders for all her previous collections. That's great news to me because I NEED another bottle of Connect the Dots, since it is my favorite polish of all time and I am so scared of running out. I have two bottles and 1/4 of another left, since I gave some of it away. Oh and I swapped one... that was a swap full of regret. Anywho, I'm glad I will be able to pick up another bottle or two. ^_^

Mani Fail

 No matter how badly we try to be perfect, there is no doubt about it that we are human and we will err regardless of our efforts. This mani is my proof that I'm human, not that anyone thought I was a robot or anything. O_O I was trying so hard to not have to do any cleanup on this particular day and I actually succeeded, well at least until my mom called to tell me that she was on her way to pick up my kids. That little phone call led to a catastrophe of dings and smudges while trying to get the kids ready for their grandparents. Needless to say, I was upset and was really in no mood to redo my whole mani, so I decided to just do some quick fixes and then throw some glitter over it all to camouflage the disaster. Yea... I imagined that going sooo much better in my head.

This is after all was said and done and kids were on their way to their grandparent's house. Pretty? I think not!

My attempt at fixing it by applying more polish and touching up bald spots. Haha, I don't know how I ever thought all would end well.

 Perhaps, I should have also mentioned that I was already in a bad mood because I broke my pinky nail way below the free edge and had to do a repair to avoid anymore damage. Actually, I'm working on a post for you guys to show you how to a fix a broken nail. That will probably be coming tomorrow. Oh and update on the giveaway, I am almost ready to post it, but I'm a little confused with the Google Docs Form that I need to create so as soon as I get that figured out the giveaway will get started! Yay!

 Before we get on to some blue spam, I would just like to apologize for my lack of posting these past few weeks. Now that I have a blog, I seriously have no idea how so many other bloggers can post daily. It is such hard work and kudos to them (or you if you're a blogger) for always being there for us nail fanatics!

Also, I am in the midst of working to do a giveaway, but I'm really clueless as to how to even begin so please bear with me. I don't have all the details as of yet and really the only reason for this giveaway is because Lynnderella was kind of enough to send me a Snow Angel to give away on my blog back when she did her first sale. I didn't do the giveaway right away since I wanted to be able to add a little more to the prizes. Now, that I have accumulated a few things, it really is just a matter of me getting informed on how best to do the giveaway. So just hold tight and I will post deets as soon as possible!

The Glittering Crowd over RBL Mismas

 Since I didn't finish Lynnderella Week, I thought I would redeem myself by posting The Glittering Crowd today. I do have two other Lynnderella's, but I think it's time to take a glitter break. The removal process is so painful and with Lynnderella's Halloween Collection soon to be up for sale, a break is necessary.

 Glittering Crowd is just amazing, period. There are so many different glitters in all kinds of shapes and sizes, that it literally blows my mind. For this mani I used one coat of RBL Mismas, one coat of The Glittering Crowd and I also used one thick coat of Seche Vite to even things out.

 I am having such a hard time concentrating on writing this post, I keep scrolling up to see the pics!! *must concentrate! When I first saw this polish, I thought it would be a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday. Trust me when I tell you, pics might hint at it, but once you see it in real life it's a totally different experience. Happy Birthday is meh compared to The Glittering Crowd. Lynnderella Ruby Red Ruby over China Glaze Ruby Deer

 This glitter is a lot more simple than the rest of Lynnderella's polishes, but that doesn't mean it's any less beautiful. Ruby Red Ruby consists of only small. medium and large hexagonal glitters in a jelly base. This will become opaque with 3 coats, but why waste this gorgeous treasure? You can get the same jelly effect if layered over another red jelly like Deborah Lippmann's I Want Candy, but since I'm still on the fence on jellies, I opted for an opaque base. I used two coats of China Glaze Ruby Deer and topped with a coat of Seche Vite, two coats would give you a smoother finish.

Shade picture. In real life it's actually a lot smoother than what this picture reflects. Here you can also see it's jelly-ness towards the cuticles.

 I don't wear reds too often because they can be a pain to clean up if not applied correctly, but Ruby Red Ruby is worth going through that AND removal. Gosh, the more I look at these pics the more I crave a candy apple. No, seriously, I REALLY WANT A CANDY APPLE.

Neon Skittles Mani with Lynnderella Connect the Dots

 Connect the Dots is a really versatile glitter that will go well with any shade of polish, which is why I had originally planned to do several mani's with different colors. However, when I brought out the colors I was planning to use, it occurred to me that it would be a lot more fun if I did a Skittles mani. I have never done one and wasn't sure what colors to start with, so I went with five polishes from Color Club's Poptastic Collection. I used Wham Pow! for the pinky, Pucci-Licious for the ring finger, Twiggie for the middle finger, Warhol for my index and Chelsea Girl for my thumb topped with one coat of Connect the Dots.

 I think Connect the Dots was a great glitter to tie the look together, without covering up the base colors. I won't talk much about this polish, since I have previously blogged about it here, but oh man is this literally the greatest glitter ever made. I am really excited that Lynnderella has decided to restock this one along with The Glittering Crowd and Snow Angel, because I just might have to pick up a few more bottles of this incredible glitter.  This is her website http://lynnderella-lynnderella.blogspot.com/, she will update it as soon as she is ready to start taking orders.
