Hello Kitty by Sephora Noir Nail Polish Collection

Last year Sephora surprised us by coming out with a Hello Kitty collection right before the end of the year and surprised us even further when they announced it would be permanent. This year they came out with an addition to the collection, but Sephora is saying it will be limited edition. It is the Noir Collection and they came out with a new perfume, new mirrored compacts, a paddle brush, a comb, an eyeshadow and lip gloss palette etc. The list is very long on the new items added, but I only picked up the paddle brush and the nail polishes.

Night Sparkle is a black creme with gold microglitter. This is two coats no topcoat. I loved the formula on this one, it was so easy to work with.

Red Sparkle is a really dense glitter made up of micro and small red glitters. I used three coats and a coat of topcoat. I already have more red glitter nail polishes than I will ever use, but I just couldn't pass on this one.

Silver Star has medium holographic glitters in a dark grey glitter base. I also used three coats on this one, but another coat would have been better, since there were a few bald spots. This glitter combination also has a couple dupes in China Glaze Eye Candy and Sally Hansen Gem Crush.

Gold Sparkle is made up of gold and bronze microglitters. This was my favorite one out of all four polishes and it was the one I had initially skipped on. I used three coats and a coat of top coat.

I think Sephora really stepped up their game on this year's Hello Kitty nail polishes. The formula was a lot better on these than the ones from their permanent collection. The only thing is that these are a bit pricey at $10 per polish and there is no information about how much polish is in them, but it's definitely less than .5 oz. Still, the main reason why people buy these polishes is because of the insanely cute Hello Kitty shaped bottle and hardly care about the polish itself. ^_^

Sephora-212

I had heard many good things about Sephora-212, but I never was able to pull the trigger on this polish. Part of the reason for that is because I only order online when purchasing something from Sephora. I have actually never been inside a Sephora store, since I tend to avoid brick and mortar stores as much as possible. It's just so much easier to go overboard inside a store than online, at least that's the case for me. I know that it would be a lot harder to put something I really liked down in the store than just removing it from my online cart. The other reason is because if I do order from Sephora I have to order more than fifty dollars to get free shipping. It's a pet peeve of mine to pay for shipping. It seems like a waste of money when so many stores offer free shipping online now. Yea, I know I've become spoiled.

Sephora-212 is jam packed with so much goodness. It has flakes and holo glitter all in a brown shimmery base. The first coat went on a bit sheer and watery, but it became opaque with the second coat. Any polish with glitter in the base needs top coat to even things up and to make it nice and shiny.  Sephora-212 was no exception.

This is such a beautiful and unique polish. I don't have anything like it in my stash of... Well let's just say it's gotten to be rather large in the past few months. My only regret is not having bought this polish sooner.

Mommy and Me nails featuring Hello Kitty

I know, I know. The pictures you are about to see are not perfect twins, but they weren't intended to be identical. These two pictures were taken about a month or so apart. I did my daughter's nails a few weeks ago and only had black nail polish with me, so she ended up with black nails. I thought they looked cute, but a bit too goth for a three year old. So, later that night I decided to add some nail decals and what's cuter than Hello Kitty??

My nails were just done a few days ago, I was tired from a long day of swatching and just wanted plain nails. It was nice, oh, for about five minutes! I have a short attention span when it comes to nail polish, but I didn't have enough time to layer anything on top. I settled on some quick nail decals and they just so happened to be HK! After I placed them I remembered my daughter's nails, and thought it would be cute to take a picture with the same prop as I used for hers.

My nails:

My daughter's nails:

This is the only picture I have where she actually let me do proper cleanup AND she posed for pictures too! I doubt this will happen again anytime soon, but it'd be awesome if she did. That way I could do Mommy and Me nails a permanent thing on my blog. ^_^

Hello Kitty by Sephora Blueberry and Lynnderella Connect the Dots

Anyone order more Connect the Dots? No? Ok, fine. I suppose now is as good a time as any to let you in on a little secret. Connect the Dots is THE best polish ever and I cannot get enough of it. I long to wear with every creme polish, but I force myself to resist the temptation. If I hadn't started a blog, I would probably, scratch that, I WOULD wear this polish 365 days a year. As much as I love it, I have actually only wore it four times and these pictures are a few months old. I came across them when I was cleaning out my crappy pictures and thought I would share them with you!

This is a really cool combo and not only because it involves Connect the Dots. Blueberry is also one of my favorites. I have worn it as many times as I have Connect the Dots and while four times doesn't seem like much. Trust me when you have hundreds of polishes, four times is A LOT. ^_^

Hello Kitty by Sephora Banana Creme

Hello Kitty! What can I say about her that you already don't know? She's cute, adorable and at times can be a bit pricey. I have been infatuated with Hello Kitty ever since I was in high school. However, back in those days Hello Kitty was not as popular as she is now. Nowadays, Hello Kitty can be found in sooo many stores that, it's almost, dare I say, tacky? I heard even Snooki from Jersey Shore is now sporting HK on the show! I don't know how to feel about that. =/

Anywho, when I received the email from Sephora last year saying they were launching a pre-sale on Hello Kitty items, I immediately logged on and did a bit of damage to my wallet. Banana Creme is one of the items I picked up.

It's a really beautiful pastel yellow and taking into consideration on how difficult yellows can be to apply, I think I would give this polish a B-. Yes, the bottle is cute and I would have bought it even if I had known the formula was less than perfect. It took three coats to get it nice and even, but it took some work to get it to apply evenly.

These are all indoor pics.

I ended up buying all the Hello Kitty nail polishes except for two, but I was browsing the Sephora website a few days ago and it looks like they will be coming out with four other colors! I am really excited about that because it looks like all four will be glitters!
