Butter London Wallis

 Hey guys, so yea I'm still in my fall mood and this is what I chose for my mani. When I first bought this, I was really hesitant to wear it because in the bottle the polish has a gritty look and I thought it would be a pain to take off. Was I ever surprised when I started applying it! It's actually a really smooth formula and not at all gritty.

  I was excited to wear this polish as much as I was hesitant. I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but I LOVE these green, gold, ugly yet pretty polishes. This polish itself has a lot of hype in nail world and let me tell you that this polish has earned that hype! The price tag on Butter London's lacquers is a little steep at $14 per bottle, but this polish is worth every penny. This is actually my first Butter London and I am really looking forward to the sale Ulta is having on September 20, which is next Tuesday. They will be offering this brand at an amazing sale of BOGO free!! So, if you're interested but think the price is a little high, I highly suggest you go to Ulta on the 20th. It'll be like paying only $7 per bottle.

Now that you know to score this polish for cheap, what do you say we move on to some swatches??

 I do want to take a moment and thank all those of you who have recently started following my blog and as well to those of you who have already been following since pretty much the beginning!! Thank you, thank you!! I am really amazed at how many followers I have and even though it's not many compared to other bloggers, to me it's as if I had a million! When I first started this blog, I really didn't think I would even get to 10 followers, let alone 32 as of today! WOW! I also want to add that I welcome any special requests or suggestions that you guys might be interesting in seeing on my blog. Orly Here Comes Trouble w/ Orly Fresh accent nail

  There are times that I don't feel like taking off my nail polish, yet I crave a new look. The perfect fix for this is to simply add a layer of glitter and voila you have a fresh mani. I was wearing Ulta Salon Formula in The Jungle Look and while I loved the color, I felt like it was time for a do-over after three days of wear.

Here is The Jungle Look. I am holding a home made cookie. Yup, I need to work on my baking skills! This was the color and food I did for Liquid Jelly's FFAN  (Friday Food and Nails) post, although it's a different pic.







 I didn't want to work too much for a fresh mani, so I just applied one layer of Orly Here Comes Trouble over The Jungle Look. To add even more oomph, I decided to take the polish off my index fingers and use two coats of Orly Fresh. My husband says this manicure is better suited for St. Patricks's Day lol. I must say, though that I agree!

 I had to file my nails down again after a break on my index finger and looking at these older pics really makes me miss them!

What do you guys think about the color scheme? Everyday look or save for St. Patty's Day?

My take on Deborah Lippmann's Forget You

 I love the concept of creating your own lacquers by mixing and blending in other lacquers. This process is known as frankening. When I first saw Forget You, I knew I had to have it. The only issue? It was out of my price range at the time.

 I couldn't stop thinking about Forget You, so in the middle of the night, I woke up and started my first franken. I used a mixture of Ulta's Pinata Yada-Yada, Wet n' Wild Party of Five Glitters and Milani Gems with Wet n' Wild Ebony Hates Chris as a tint..

Here's a shade pic and I think I should have only used Ulta's Pinata Yada- Yada instead of a mixture. It looks almost green, but that could also be the black polish I used as a tint.

Sun pic. I like the way it looks in the sun so much better, but still those big glitters throw it off for me. 

 This is the first time I have attempted frankening and overall I was ok with it. However, I don't think I'm going to be trying it again anytime soon, though. It wasn't enough to kill my lemming for Forget You, so I will just have to put it on my Christmas list!



Black Shimmer Nail Polishes - Swatches/ Comparisons

 Today I have a swatch/ comparison for you. Somehow, (I have no idea how O_O) I have accumulated four black polishes with microglitter in the mix. When I was doing my nail polish inventory, a few weeks ago, I noticed that they were almost identical. The only thing was that I was doing my inventory in low lighting, so I couldn't be certain.

 This weekend I finally decided to swatch them to see how different and/ or alike they were. I did two coats of each nail polish and I only took sun pictures because the lighting in the shade didn't show any of the glitter.

This is Sinful Colors Secret Admirer. If you're looking for a black polish with noticeable silver glitter, then this is the polish for you. This was the only one that you could really tell there was glitter in there and it almost gives it a duochrome look.

This is Little Black Dress. The L.A. Colors one and this one were the only two that came close to what I envisioned black with microglitter polish to be. They are both black bases and both have microglitter, but it's less pronounced and gives it a more subtle look than Secret Admirer.

Here is L.A. Colors. Unfortunately, it didn't have a name. I bought this one in a set of six other polishes. The packaging said it was the Shimmer Brights Collection, yet I couldn't find any names for them online. This one and Little Black Dress are pretty close dupes.

The last one is Essence Fabuless. This polish is definitely way more subdued than all of them. It's basically a black creme with a sparse sprinkling of microglitter

 I'm sorry that I didn't provide full swatches of these, but my original plan was to take a closeup of them all together, so that you could distinguish the difference better. However, that was a total fail. When I took pictures like that, you could barely even tell them apart, except for Secret Admirer.

Ulta Material Girl

   I was saving this polish to wear during the fall because of it's vampy color, but yesterday it just seemed to call out to me. I had no idea what I was searching for, and when I saw the holographic particles reflecting from the bottle I immediately decided that was my color for the day.

   The main reason why I picked up this polish was because it was free with a promotion Ulta was having. Now, I'm so happy I picked this one because I really could not stop staring at my nails all day yesterday. Well, I'll let you see for yourself how awesome the holo-ness of this polish is.

   Isn't it awesome?? This last picture really shows the holo-ness of this polish, and the first few are pictures of the polish in the shade. The only thing that I didn't like about this polish was that it was a little thick, but I added a few drops of acetone and that seemed to fix the issue. I used two coats of Material Girl and one coat of Seche Vite, but two would have been better because the glitter leaves the surface somewhat grainy. That's it for this post, and I had initially just wanted to do a post a week but for this week I'm going to have nail art week. I plan to do a nail art design for every day of the week with how to directions as well. They're not going to be anything really elaborate, since I'm not great at freehand. I hope you enjoy anyways!!
