Color Club's Magic Attraction with added bling!

  It's almost Wednesday, or should I say it's barely Tuesday? I know the week just started, but I can't wait for Friday because that's when I will be getting my Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday! Yay! I don't know why I get so excited about getting one of my lemmings because when I FINALLY get it, I just store it and move on to my next lemming. Anyways! On to today's glitter-fabulous post!

 I have this mani in my Random Nail Art page, but it was a camera phone picture. Most of those pictures are really small and blurryish, so I decided to redo those mani's and replace the page with something that has better quality. Not sure what it will be yet.

Even though this is made up of dense holographic glitter, it still somehow manages to be quite sheer and would be better layered over another polish. I used FIVE thin coats because I wanted the "glitter" look without a background color. I topped it off with Diamond Dry top coat, then I just picked four rhinestones an placed them on the side of the nail just below the nail line.

I don't remember what happened, but it looks like I smudged the polish on my index finger. =/ 



 This is such a beautiful polish and I definitely need to buy a backup. I'm already halfway through the one I have!

Nicole by OPI Me + Blue - Justin Bieber Collection

  Yes, that is a broken nail polish bottle. This is the second time that this happens to me, the first time it was with China Glaze IDK! I think it has to do with how I store my nail polish. I keep them in plastic shoe boxes and stack them one on top of the other. When I need to get to a certain box it takes quite a bit of rearranging and usually I'm really careful when moving them. However, today I was in a hurry to get out of the house, and well this is what happened. The good thing about it was that only the top broke and most of the nail polish was able to be saved! It's sad to admit, but if it weren't for this tragic accident, I might have never worn this color.

I cleaned out one of my gloopy Seche Vite bottles, which was hard work, but it was worth it to save this color!

 I used three coats to achieve bottle color and one coat of Diamond Dry topcoat. I really love this color. It's a beautiful hue of blue and the holographic glitter just makes it POP! My husband even said it was a "badass color". Lol.

Glitter Envy with Starry Temptress Top Coat

  This is the second polish I try from Color Club's Starry Temptress Collection and I have to say this one was a fail. The polish was super thick, yet it left bald spots so I had to use three coats. I couldn't get them to be thin coats and it looks like the polish is just caked on! I liked the color and I want to try it again, but first I need to buy some thinner. I can't believe I haven't bought some yet. I really need it for my Seche Vite top coat. I have six bottles that are halfway full, but they became gloopy. Instead of buying thinner, I have just been buying new bottles.

 I don't like the look of the polish on it's own, since the glitter doesn't shine, it's just there. In my opinion, if I'm going to go through the trouble of removal, it better freaking sparkle! So, I added a coat of Starry Temptress top coat. I like it much better with the top coat. It's not overly sparkly, but it has a nice effect.

I know most people find the Color Club polishes online, so you may not have the Starry Temptress top coat if you didn't buy the set. I was in Family Dollar yesterday and I found this, Sassy Sparkle by L.A. Colors from their Craze line and it's really similar to Starry Temptress. The glitter is a bit bigger on Sassy Sparkle, but it's a good option if you don't have Starry Temptress.

Matte Barbie

 I had so many manicures planned for last week and this week, but as you all know... life happens. The first thing that happened was that last week our AC went out and we thought it was a simple fix, but it turned out to be the compressor! My house has been over 90 degrees, and because it was so hot we had been staying at my parent's house. To top it off I couldn't blog at my parent's house, since they don't have internet and I was limited to the manicures I did on myself because I was busy doing everyone else's nails. Lol I admit I love painting other people's nails, but I really wanted to get some swatching done, at least.

 So that was that, but then our puppy, Mickey, passed away. We have no idea what happened, but when we awoke Thursday he was already dead. I was so sad because he was such a good puppy, but my husband took it even worse. He was the primary one who looked after him and played with him.

 Even though, that was a sad day for us, the next day, unbeknownst to me, was our six year wedding anniversary! Usually, it's the other way around, but with all the stuff going on, it totally slipped my mind. Oops! He later admitted at our dinner that he had also forgotten, and because he didn't have time he wasn't able to get me much or anything too special. However, it was so awesome when he pulled out two nail polishes at dinner and he told me that he went into Ulta to pick them out. I think the most awesome part of all was that he actually went into Ulta, he has only been into that store once with me because he says it's a "girl" store.

 On to some oh so pretty nail polish!! I did this combination once before when I first received them, and I was anxious to wear them both. The first time I did it, I really loved it, but the next day I had a parent teacher meeting so I changed my manicure to a more "mom" look. This time, however, I was able to enjoy it a wee bit longer. I don't know why, but this combo totally reminds me of Barbie, hence the title.

This is in the shade with three coats. Pink is Lolly and blue is Phoebe. Phoebe is matte blue shimmer, Lolly is a straight up matte polish. They are both so beautiful though.

 I need more practice with matte polishes. I had a difficult time getting it to even out, but I attribute that to my poor skills with the matte finishes. Anyways! Good news is that our AC is now up and running and I am once again able to blog! I almost forgot, we got a new puppy this week!! I know it's a little soon, but I couldn't stand seeing my husband so sad. I didn't know what else to do to make him feel better. So, our newest member of the family is a German Shepherd and his name is Dexter. I'll post a pic tomorrow of him. He's soooo adorable!
